AIAAA Special Commendation Award

This award has been established by the AIAAA Board of Directors to recognize nominees who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and service to the AIAAA. Nominations for this award may only come from an AIAAA Board Member, and will be voted on by the AIAAA Board of Directors.

Athletic Director of the Year Award

Presented to athletic administrators who have made significant contributions to the 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A conferences which have impacted high school activities. Individual has a long-standing and distinguished record of involvement with middle school activities programs in their local and state levels. Individual is recognized as among the best in their profession by their colleagues.

Medallion of Distinction

The Medallion of Distinction Award is given annually to a vendor or a sponsor in recognition of service and loyalty to the AIAAA.

Middle School Athletic Director of the Year Award

Presented to middle school athletic administrators who have made significant contributions. Individual has a long-standing and distinguished record of involvement with middle school activities programs in their local and state levels. Individual is recognized as among the best in their profession by their colleagues.

Zig Kwiatkowski Rookie “Step To The Plate” Award (1A-3A)

This award has been established by the AIAAA Board of Directors. The Rookie “Step to the Plate” Award will be presented annually to an AIAAA member who has made significant contributions and demonstrated excellence in the area of professional development at both the local and state levels. The nominee selected should have less than three years experience as a high school athletic director. A nominee’s contributions to professional development may include but are not required to have participated in one or more of the following: AIAAA State Conference, NFHS coaching certification programs, AIAAA committee member, AIA committee member or local leadership programs.
